Collagenase I

RRPFR0205

Collagenase is a protease that cleaves the bond between glycine and the neutral amino acid (X) in the Pro-X-Gly-Pro sequence (commonly found in collagen). Among proteases, only collagenase is capable of degrading the triple-helical natural collagen fibers commonly found in connective tissues such as skin, tendons, blood vessels, and bone.
